Two months ago I won a gift certificate from Snickety Snacks. I was really excited because I knew this was something my Little Monkey would love!!! Why? Snickety Snacks is a company owned by Brittanie, she makes the prettiest cake balls, and sugar cookies you've ever seen! She is based in Maryland, but will ship her cookies anywhere, (cake balls don't ship so well)!
I ordered one of her specialties, a sugar cookie kit. The kit includes 1 dozen sugar cookies that are iced with a hard white icing, and then you get a set of edible ink markers so you can decorate them yourself! What kid wouldn't love that? I ordered two kits and took them to my daughters "school" day. All the kids had a great time once they realized it was okay to draw on their cookies, let me tell you I got some funny looks when I told them what we were going to do.
Now, I have a little story about these cookies, I forgot to order them. Well, at least I forgot to the first time I thought about it. I emailed Brittanie 1 1/2 weeks before I wanted the cookies and asked if it was possible to get them on the 7th. She said no problem. Saturday night, the 5th, I received an email from Brittanie telling me that something had happened, and my order didn't get shipped. She was going to be delivering another order to Fredericksburg, which is a good hour and 15 minutes away on a good day, and she wanted to personally deliver my cookies. I told her this was above and beyond, but she said she wanted to do it. Of course, Sunday it rained all day here, I mean ALL day!! 3 inches in less than 24 hours. I don't know how long it took Brittanie to get to my house, but she showed up at 5 with my two orders of cookies, and a little something extra! She is trying out Whoopie Pies, so she included 9 for us to try. I still cannot believe she delivered my order, it was so, so nice of her. Now, I have to say first that Whoopie Pies have never been a favorite of mine. They are just so sweet. However, I tried each of these, and I absolutely love the Peanut Butter with Chocolate filling! It was so good!! It is not overly sweet, the peanut butter didn't overpower the chocolate and vice verse. The Red Velvet was also good, the Chocolate chip was overly sweet for me, but again, I don't like icing, so it would be overly sweet to me. I think most people would probably love it. My hubby did!
