A Visit to Lucketts....

So, to finish out our weekend away, hubby asked if I wanted to stop in Lucketts on our way home.  He knows I've been wanting to check it out, particularly since Miss Mustard Seed has a pavilion there now.  Who was I to say no?  Yes I said, and so after a leisurely morning, and lunch, we headed down there from Frederick, MD.

Now, it has been 7 years since my last visit to the Lucketts Antique Store, a lot has changed in 7 years let me tell you!  When I first visited, it was just the house, and outside there was a huge antique metal work display, you know, those fun frilly metal pieces you see in gardens and yards.  Like metal canopies for vines to crawl over, and metal benches, etc.  It was a really neat antique store, with lots of odds and ends, and fully loaded with antique and vintage items, like any other antique store.  Now....well now it is quite different.  Its not a bad different, just wasn't what I was expecting.  I was still expecting a fully loaded antique store, what we got was different.  there are still antiques, but primarily what you will find are vintage and some antique pieces that have been painted, distressed, or recovered to look new.  It is more home decor now.  Like I said, it wasn't what I was expecting, but I still enjoyed it. Oh, and sorry about the quality of the pictures, I forgot my camera so all I had was my phone, I promise I'll try to do better!
View of Lucketts Antique Store from The Design House

The design house was open the day we went, so of course I had to go through that.  here are a few pictures.
I loved this dresser, it had a beautiful natural look, and a stone top.
You know me and maps! There were several like this throughout the Design House.
I love these owl pictures!
I really wanted to get this topiary, but hubby said not today.  :)
Fun girly pillow
This really wanted to come home with me, it knew it would look perfect on my front porch, sigh, it was just a bit beyond my budget for the day.
Sorry there were no pictures of a whole room, there were so many people in the Design house that I hard time getting any pictures without people in them.

Next, we headed to the outdoor pavilions,
Again, this little cart knew it would look awesome on my porch or in my house with plants on it, but alas it was not meant to be.
Can't you just see this in your yard full of bright beautiful flowers?
See that door in the middle, It would look beautiful on our house.
love those bright green tiles!
another beautiful table

you just might recognize one of them....

Yep, if you guessed Miss Mustard Seed, you are right!  This is the official MMS pavilion at Lucketts.

Now, here is what it looked like Saturday, MMS said she had it fully stocked, you'll notice all the items missing in my picture?  I'd say she did a great job, because she sold out!  (well, mostly anyway!)
I found out later, that Marion (aka MMS) had been to Lucketts Sunday morning, bummer!! I just missed her!  I have to admit, that I had an eye out just in case I happened to see her.

Here are some photos from inside the Antique store.
Do you recognize this? Yep MMS! Let me tell you it is even better in person than it is in pictures.  If I had a little boy, I would totally love this for his bedroom!  Even hubby liked this!
Love the vintage postcard look on this!
Love the storage case (blue) looks perfect for sheet music or scrapbook supplies.
Hubby really loved this chair, he was trying to figure out how and where it would work in our house.  We never did, so it is still there for someone else to buy.
See the wire thing with jewelry on it, it is pretty awesome, another one of those items I would have taken home.
these are all old chenille blankets, you can cut them up and make the cutest baby bedding, but alas, not something I need right now.

Here are some photos from Busy Bee Cottage, which is between the store and the pavilions.
Can you say BLING!  I wish this picture was better!  When you walk in this section, it is sparkly and glittering, and WOW!

Even though I was expecting something different, I still enjoyed my visit, and came away with a little something for me, and a gift for a friend.
this necklace is for a friend, I love how simple it is.

this one was for me, it has a stretchy pearl band

These were purchased from Crown Jewels in the Busy Bee Cottage.  There were plenty of things I wanted to buy, and some I might have except hubby nixed the idea, which was fine.  I still want to go back in May during the Antique fair at the Lucketts Fair grounds, but we'll have to see if it works out!
Thanks for stopping in today!

  2. Oh, it looks like you had such a good time! I often see things I love that are out of my budget there, but good deals can still be found. Glad you came home with some fun things.

  3. Ah, I have wanted to know more about Lucket's. Now I have a general idea, although I would love to visit. It is a little far for a day trip from here... :) Love all the pics, just like I got to go myself. Thanks
