Hobby Lobby Visit! FINALLY!!!

So last night Hubby decided we are going to "run" down to Richmond because he wants to buy an anvil.  Yep an anvil.  Hey, I have my hobbies, this one is his.  He wants to learn blacksmithing, which I think it kinda cool.  Anyhow, since we had to drive right by the new Hobby Lobby to get where he was going, I sweetly asked to be dropped off, and he sweetly complied.  :)  He even walked around Hobby Lobby just so he could see what the buzz was all about.  He decided its a pretty cool store, and its a good thing it is an hour away. (hehe)  So, after drooling over just about every aisle, and all the choices to be had, I finally narrowed things down to what I needed, and a couple things I didn't need.  (Of course!)

I was going for flower making supplies, when I found this great deal on poly satin, $2.99 a yard, way cheaper than JoAnn's!

Then I found some ribbon for covering hair clips, $1.99 each and then 50% off that!

Next came some jewelry supplies for a little something for moi, they were all 50% off too!

Then a great big package of jewels, for a little something that will be coming down the road, $15.99 then 50% off!

Then I noticed these gold letters, they were 50% off too.  So I bought these two, and Hubby immediately raises one eyebrow, I know what he is thinking, you hate gold, why are you buying these?  Then he laughs and says oh, these won't be staying gold will they?  I just smiled and shook my head, he knows me so well.

Last, I bought this cardboard number 3 for Little Monkey's upcoming birthday.  I have some ideas that are taking shape, I'm really hoping they work out!

After Hobby Lobby we met Hubby's sister, husband, and 3 kids for dinner at Chili's and then headed to Micky D's for ice cream (Sweet Frogs was already closed).  All in all, we had a fabulous evening!  Hubby got his anvil, I got my Hobby Lobby, and Little Monkey and Hubby got these, just for fun.

Can't wait for a repeat evening!

  3. I just love spur of the moment shopping trips. Somehow it shakes the doldrums up and sends them scampering. Sounds like a fun evening. I remember going to Hobby Lobby in Mo. I loved that store. Wish they had them in CA!

  4. Oh man. Two reasons to be jealous. First, I don't have a Hobby Lobby, but it's all the talk in blogland. I feel deprived. I do have Michaels and JoAnn's, but still feel that I must be missing out on something fabulous.
And then you throw Chili's into the mix and I need to go pout. The nearest Chili's is four hours away and it's one of my very, very favorites!
Sounds like you had a fun and productive shopping trip....that's the best kind!
