Unique Toy Organization...

Well, I just finished this little project this morning, in fact, just a couple minutes ago!  There is one place in my living room that is always messy, and always drives me crazy.  That would be the toy corner.  Here is what it usually looks like, and this picture was taken after I picked up some of the toys already.

Baby Boy L decided he had to get in the shot!

I took all the toys and books and separated them into two baskets, the blue one contains the toys and books that belong upstairs, but manage to migrate down regularly, the white basket contains the downstairs books, and a few toys, mostly for the babies.

Honestly, about 80% of each basket is books, not toys.  Truly, I promise!
If you read about my yard sale finds of last Saturday you will remember this box I bought from a friend.

Even though you all thought the box was fine as is, it bugged Hubby, so I told him I would change it a bit.  All I did was take some steel wool to the S in the word Rubbers, and fade it out, it can just barely be seen.  I then pulled out my handy little Dremel and sanded a few rough spots that were small, but could give little fingers splinters.  I used a couple coats of Minwax Antique Oil finish, this darkened it up nicely, and blended in the spot I sanded.  Last, I hot glued some black felt onto the bottom of the box so it would not scratch my floor.  Here is the finished product.
sorry for the flash spot, this is kind of a dark corner.

Here is what that formerly messy corner looks like now.

Wonderful isn't it?  I am so happy with it!  I have one little project left for this corner, I am going to make Little Monkey a little drawstring bag for all her little tiny dolls and their miniscule cloths and shoes.  Have you seen how tiny a Polly Pocket's shoes are?  I find them all over!!  Here's hoping that having a bag to contain it all will make a difference!
Happy Friday!
