Feature: Sugarbritches of Gordonsville, VA

I have mentioned Sugarbritches a couple of times recently, so I thought it was time to show you just what it is.  I spoke with Jodi the owner and she was all for a feature!  So without further ado, here is Sugarbritches.

Sugarbritches is located at 300 South Main St. in Gordonsville, Virginia.  When you pull up to the building, it has a very old feel to it, I'm not sure how old it is, but most of Main Street is Civil war era.
When you walk in the front door you are greeted by this beautiful treasure,

a newly refinished carousel horse!  Isn't  he a beauty?  Believe me, the kids love him!  As you look around you will see lots of beautiful cloths, vintage toys, new toys, lots of handmade items as well.  The building has beautiful hardwood floors, and moldings that are only seen in really old buildings.   It is bright and well lit, so it is easy to see everything in the store.  All the items in the store are unique, they are American and European primarily.
Sugarbritches also sells old fashioned candy! YUM!
See, its not just for girls!
Embroidery can be added to personalize clothing or gifts.

The back half of the store is a Tea Room!  This is the perfect place for little girl parties!!  Jodi has a wonderful collection of dress up cloths, antique costume jewelry, and hats.  A little girls dream right?   This beautiful mural is the back drop for the tea table.

If you have a really unique hand made item you think would be great at Sugarbritches, let Jodi know, she is always looking for new items for the store.
So, now you have had a tour of Sugarbritches, did it make you want to visit?  I hope so!  It really is a wonderful store, I love going in to see what new treasures Jodi has found.

  1. I was driving by the other day and saw that they had closed down!! I love your store, and I'm about to have another baby girl and was so excited to come by and get something for her to come home in from the hospital. You had lovely clothes and I am so sorry you all had to close.
