Welcome back to part two of the master suite reveal. Today I will be showing you the master bath. It is not totally finished, but it is on its way. Enjoy!
Here is the before photo:
Here are the after shots.
This view is taken from the door to the master bedroom.
The finished vanity. Hubby is an amazing guy, he and another guy he knows laid the slate tile floor, that was his first time laying tile. He decided to tackle the counter top himself. It turned out beautifully! Of course, being a plumber, he also did the sink, faucet, toilet, tub, all himself.
This bookshelf backs up to the vanity, and obviously, next to the toilet. I haven't totally decided what to do with it, other than it being a place to set toilet paper, but I am working on it. Have any ideas? Let me hear them! The wood top on the shelf is made from Sassafras, we picked up 10 or 12 boards of it at an auction several years ago. We weren't sure what to do with it, but it was unique, and we were getting ready to build this house, so we decided to go ahead and get it. It finishes beautifully, and when you are cutting it or plane it, it smells like root beer. Yum!
Here is a close up of the tile counter. The green milk bottle was a freebie, the flowers in it $2 (still need to do something with those, they are just plopped in the jug.). The soap dispenser, WalMart for $6. Towel and flower pot were gifts.
The slate floor. I really love this floor. It always looks clean, even when it is not. This is not entirely a good thing, as I sometimes forget to clean it because it is not noticeable. Oh well!
So, that is the master bath. Oh, off the bath is also a walk in closet, and a linen closet. Did I mention that both full bathrooms in this house have linen closets? I really, really love that feature!
Tomorrow I will show you my "wish list" for the master suite, and some things I have in the works for it.
Again, if you have any ideas, please let me know.
Melissa
Looks Great Melissa!
ReplyDeleteHey Melissa. The bedroom and bath look great. An idea for the shelf by the toilet. Towels folded nicely would look pretty. Also TP in a basket always looks organized. Both rooms turned out so pretty. That slate countertop reminds me of some slate we just put in our master shower on the floor. Bye. Aunt Lana
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing! I need to re-do my Master bath and you've inspired me. I really love the tile countertop and floors.
